Project Summary
Provide technical and research leadership on climate and labor projects in South Asia, including assessing heat and renewable energy impacts on the garment industry in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Cambodia, as well as leading an ILO-linked study on trade competitiveness and decent work in Bangladesh.
Project Responsibilities
01. Provide technical assistance and take the lead in their research project in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Cambodia on the effects of heat, climate change, and renewable energy, as well as how much these factors cost the ready-made garment industry. They also look at investment opportunities and enhance RMG’s financing options for climate-friendly investments and heat reduction.
02. Oversee an ILO research project on trade and decent work to evaluate the trade competitiveness of four chosen sectors in Bangladesh: RMG, Agriculture, and Climate (Energy) based on their decent work criteria and indicators.
03. Create and oversee home, worker, and enterprise surveys
04. Create the pilot phase’s impact evaluation using data analysis, report authoring, survey quality control, and partner management.
05. Developing models and funding solutions for sustainable business models that use climate finance choices, as well as performing costing exercises.
